Planning consent has been granted by Westminster City Council for MSMR’s re-design of a four-storey, semi-detached property in Bayswater.
Development of the property will raise it from its current state of disrepair to a modern and comfortable family home. The proposed design aims to rebalance the composition of the building with its immediate neighbour. The existing poor-quality rear closet wing and terrace will be remodelled, replacing it with a new, three-storey extension. On the lower floors this contains a spacious open plan kitchen and family room, leading out to a landscaped garden terrace.
By retaining and refurbishing the front and side façades, and replacing the existing cumbersome roof extension with a more contextual, sympathetic design, the scheme will preserve and enhance the surrounding Westbourne Conservation area.
