Planning permission achieved for ‘The Farm House’.
Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on land designated as agricultural use, the ‘Farm House’ is a composition of new buildings that sits within an arrangement of existing and proposed new barns. Collectively, the proposals will provide necessary agricultural working space, alongside the farmers family home.
The architectural language reflects historic farm houses and agricultural buildings within the vicinity. A simple material palette has been selected to work in harmony with the landscape, the surrounding barns and other buildings of importance in the local area. Prominent stone clad chimney stacks are a feature along with pitched roofs at different heights which terminate as gables or hips – all creating a variety of form and a clear hierarchy of elements. Windows to the principal rooms have been located to capture views of both the central courtyard as well as open views across the Surrey hills.
