A multi-site regeneration project in Hackney Wick will provide a mixture of affordable, shared ownership and private sale apartments, along with a diverse commercial offering including gallery space and affordable workshops for artists and creators who define the character of this dynamic and vibrant part of London.
MSMR have been appointed to provide interior architecture services for the residential elements of the scheme which includes buildings by Delvendahl Martin, Studio Weave and Hawkins Brown. MSMR have developed concepts and material palettes which respond to the exterior architecture of the different blocks, and also reflect both the industrial heritage of Hackney Wick, and the contemporary artist presence. Material and colour palettes were developed to reference the layering processes utilised in lithographic print making, an industry long associated with the area, and this layering of colours and materials also references the continually evolving nature of the street art which provides such a strong part of Hackney Wick’s contemporary identity.
