MSMR is providing architectural and interior designer services on the refurbishment of this 20,000 sq ft, Grade II listed house on Palace Green.
The comprehensive design programme includes internal and external works to improve the building’s comfort, accessibility and efficiency. MSMR’s design for the interior combines traditional details with a natural palette of materials and colours inspired by the Norwegian landscape.
Built in 1905, the building houses the ambassadorial residence and the state apartment, as well as staff accommodation. It serves as the public face of Norway in the UK, hosting to up to 4000 visitors per year.
